The EB-1 visa type is a type of visa issued to facilitate commercial activities within the U.S permanent worker visa categories.

E.B.-2 Visas:

This visa type is reserved for people who are members of the professions holding advanced degrees or for people with exceptional ability in the arts, business, and sciences.

Within the framework of your professional experience and competence:

  • Diplomas and awards related to your profession,
  • Your petition stating your ten years of experience,
  • Documents showing your membership in professional organizations,
  • Documents showing your salary or other remuneration for services that demonstrates your exceptional ability,
  • Any supporting document showing your professional success

make it easier for you to obtain an EB-2 visa. The EB-2 visa type provides researchers with the freedom of professional activities within the U.S permanent worker visa categories.

EB-3 Visas:

This visa type is reserved for professionals, skilled workers (requiring at least two years of job experience, education, or training),  and other workers. (requiring less than two years of training or experience)

U.S Permanent Worker Visa Categories: Special Immigrants, EB-4 Visas:

This visa type is reserved for "special immigrants," which includes certain religious workers, employees of U.S. foreign service posts, retired employees of international organizations. As part of the U.S permanent worker visa categories, the EB-4 visa is issued only to special immigrants. The following immigrants are eligible for the fourth preference visa:

  • Certain broadcasters
  • Religious workers,
  • Special Immigrant Juveniles,
  • Members of the U.S. armed forces,
  • Afghan or Iraqi translators or interpreters,
  • Certain retired officers or employees of NATO employees and their family members,
  • Certain workers of the U.S. government who are abroad,

EB-5 Visas:

 This visa type is reserved for business investors who invest $1.8 million or $900,000 (if you invest in a targeted employment area) in a new commercial enterprise that employs at least ten full-time U.S. employees.

Students and Exchange Visitors Visas Also Offer Limited Work Opportunities

People who wish to join full-time academic or vocational studies in the United States may apply for one of two nonimmigrant student categories:  The "F" visa is for academic students, and the "M" visa is for vocational participants. If you are an exchange visitor, the J visa program is for educational and cultural exchange programs. F, M, and J visas are a category that provides the right to study and to work legally within specific frameworks in the U.S. work visa categories. Although students and exchange visitors visas (F, M, and J visas) are not included in the U.S permanent worker visa categories, they provide the opportunity to work under certain conditions.

If you are planning to participate in short-term training or to travel for a scientific, educational, professional, or business convention or a conference on specific dates, you may be eligible for a B-1 visa.
